Well, if what you're using on the i is QDCXLATE (which is what OP
mentioned), then no, I would say it's not much easier on the i. ;)
If you have a stream file that you need to translate, it should just
be a single command to do the translation, no system API call
required. While I don't think Windows comes with a built-in code page
translator, I know you can download one. So, I'll concede it's easier
on the i (no download needed), but I don't consider downloading
Windows software difficult.
