Yes, COVID-19 related.

Our IT dept (completely separate from POWER/IBMi team) initially promised complete hardware for select users. They since back-pedaled and said that every user will be forced to use whatever personally owned hardware they already have. The data entry app in question expects a full size monitor and keyboard. We've resigned ourselves to the relatively small laptop displays, but we're still trying to get IT to provide keyboards.

Subject: Re: Mac user & 5250 enter

Hello Justin,

We have a few diehard old-schools users who insist on keeping the keyboard layout from their long-gone 3486 Twinax terminals. The enter key performs Field Exit and the right CTRL is ENTER.

They can configure like they want it to be, right? That doesn't mean, that everybody else needs to suffer from the same unusual layout.

The user is a data entry operator and is working on a laptop with no number pad (we've asked IT to provide an external keyboard).

Forced Corona Home-Office? Or who would be so rude to force a data entry operator to have no num pad?
