With EE you can network IBM i to use known SNA tools, and UDP/IP as transport. Crtctlappc linktype(*hprip) is what you want to use. For the LU-LU-Sessions, they appear to be immediately adjacent.

Maybe we can come up with even better ideas to keep the DR database current. Did you consider remote journalling, maybe?
