I'll never forget the look on Carol Woodbury's face when Steve Glanstein (there's a name from the past) showed her a security hole. The whole was patched with the next cumulative PTF.

This is the only scenario that I have ever encountered - where they were using the IFS as a mapped drive and infected PCs infected files on the server. In that type of context the host (linux/Windows/IBM i) is irrelevant other than "can the system itself get infected" and in the case of the i the answer has always been no.

The system has been hacked - mostly due to people foolishly leaving default passwords in place - but there has been no virus to my knowledge that ever infected the system per-se.

I've never heard of one in over 20 years.

At one time someone said there has never been an i-Series virus in
the wild? Never knew if it was true then or not.

If it was true, is it still true?
