We don't have an HMC.

Just curious, but is your HMC password posted on the wall? They will need that to use 5250 console and Virtual Control Panel.

I looked at that. It seems to cover Nav functions and the obsolete IBMi Access Client. I don't see that it covers iACS functions. For example, what about "5250 Console" and "Virtual Control Panel"?

Thanks

Did you try this?
<snip>
But failing an effective security policy you could always try IBM Navigator for i, Security, Application Administration, Client Applications, IBM i Access Client </snip>

" Many or most will rely on security-by-obscurity"

That's kind of what I figured, especially for shops that install the client directly on every PC.

Thanks

As it stands typically, the config properties file is changeable by the user. Many or most will rely on security-by-obscurity.

Perhaps that file can be made read-only, with only the set of options you want enabled.

Of course, as new actions are made available, that properties file might need updating, in whatever way you can do that.

Just ruminating - we don't do any controls on this at this time.
