Well, yes, that is why I added that comment to the bottom of the link I sent in the email to verify that the vHMC is up to a version compatible with your firmware.
The initial download is a bit behind. I guess that's in case you are hooking up your vHMC to older firmware. For newer firmware you are expected to update the HMC code.
