The one that
most people seem to use (because it already comes with the system and
was available long before CPYTOARCF) is `jar`.

Hah! I just now realized you were the one who was already using `jar`
but worried about the CCSID!

Well, what I said is still true: There are quite a number of
alternatives. A few off the top of my head: `ajar`, p7zip, the `zip`
that you can install via `yum`, ARP-ZIP from Arpeggio Software.
