Didn't you change your QLOGOUTPUT to *PND? We don't have S36 jobs anymore on my system, but all "regular" jobs look like what you have below.

Spooled representations in QPJOBLOG of a joblog are no more a "joblog" than the output of CPYF TOFILE(*PRINT) to a spool file in an output queue should be considered the "file".

Perhaps something changed which told S36 environment programs to stop copying joblogs to spool files? Let me demonstrate.

Signed on

STRS36

DSPJOB OUTPUT(*PRINT)

SIGNOFF LOG(*LIST)

Signed back on

WRKJOB ROBS4

Job User Number Type -----Status---

ROBS4 ROB 285938 INTER ACTIVE

ROBS4 ROB 285937 INTER JOBLOG PENDING

ROBS4 ROB 285936 INTER JOBLOG PENDING

ROBS4 ROB 285935 INTER JOBLOG PENDING

Notice the status of JOBLOG PENDING?

1 to work with the job

4. Work with spooled files

Just the DSPJOB output.

10. Display job log, if active, on job queue, or pending

I see the joblog, (not a spooled output of the joblog). Just like as if the job was still active.

For more information see the following:

WRKSYSVAL SYSVAL(QLOGOUTPUT) Mine is set to *PND

DSPJOBD, look for "Job log output"

CHGJOBD JOBD(QDFTJOBD) LOGOUTPUT(*SYSVAL)

Subject: System/36 Environment + Joblogs

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe.

We have some processes still running in the System/36 environment. We have

noticed that it appears jobs running in that environment do not create a

joblog to QPJOBLOG, even though, while the users are signed on to the

machine, entering option 10 on their job shows the job log entries being

captured.

The users job descriptions are set to logging 4/0/*SECLVL and Log CL =

*YES. Does anyone know if there is something preventing the job logs for

the System/36 environment jobs from being produced? I don't see any

settings in CHGS36A that affect job logging.

Thank you,

Doug
