That is backwards of what I'm seeing, and backwards of what is documented. Object authority is inherited from the parent directory for me, and when I make changes to flags I'm passing to the mode, my data authorities change. https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i_72/rzarl/rzarlauthobjdrt.htm

Subject: RE: mkdir() API and IFS authorities

Kevin,

Thanks, but that's pretty much what my code does and only the DTAAUT is not set--only the OBJAUT.

Setting the mode works fine for me. This is a snippet from some old
code, but it works for me.
c Eval Mode = S_Irusr + S_Iwusr
C + S_Irwxo
C If Mkdir(%addr(@Path):Mode) < 0
C Callp DspError('Makedir')
C Endif

I think I've done this before, but I'm at a loss as to how to set the
DTAAUT
authority for a folder I'm creating with the mkdir() API. I can easily
set
the
object authorities, but without data authorities the new folder is
worthless.

Thanks,

Michael Quigley
