New vs used brings that whole maintenance issue into play though. As a software vendor you could ask yourself if the number of 7.1 clients out there are making you enough money to pay for 3 years maintenance on a used vs new Power system. And, will a P8 run rNext? Will it run rNext+1? 7.4 has been out about a year so I suspect rNext out in 2021 and rNext+1 in 2024. If you "settle" for a P8, how soon until you have to replace it?
