Since moving from Power 8 to Power 9, same v7.3 and ptf level

Same code has run since early v7.1

*Spool memory pool has (right now) 296M and performance adjust is automatic

Multiple instances (dozen or so) where in batch job processing 200-300
spooled files to email

RPGLE processing a single *afpds spool - 1 page , external print file,
ended with LR on

Spooled file was originally USROPN and CLOSE , but then removed so RPG
handled open/close (had errors where msg thrown on USROPN saying it was
already open..)

After RPGLE ended, next step in clp is to convert spool to pdf using a very
stable commercial tool

Error message indicating spool still being written

04:35:01.631929 - end of RPGLE, time of next step in clp

04:35:01.634524 - time of call to conversion tool

04:35:01.638826 - error thrown indicating spool still being written

Obviously a very short time, but with the machine so fast, are we at the
point where simple steps in a clp need a retry?

This is very straight forward clp and RPGLE (CRTBNDPGM) , no shared data
opens, *DFTACTGRP

I know spooling is handled by QSPL subsystem.

I would think the RPGLE step in the clp would not advance to next step till
all the closing steps complete.
