IDK if messing with set connection blasts any open cursors. Just haven't done enough with that.
Get too many WTF errors playing with CONNECT TO and that genre in Run SQL Scripts.

set connection does open cursors no harm! The diffrence between connect and three part alias is: using connect you would get a SQLSTATE and could react, using three part alias the connect is implicit and you don't see it and you can't disconnect.
