with *MOVDTA you can set a priority for moving data. Remove Disk does a medium priority data move IIRC...

On heavy load systems you can use *MOVDTA with *LOW priority if you have some time.

2. Remove Drives from ASP without first *MOVDTA

Both can be done on live system. It seams that option 2 would a couple less steps to accomplish same end goal.
