In my customer set the LaserVault has only been used in sequential mode. We
have no experience with it in Random mode, but based on the hula hoops we
have to jump into and out of to get the LaserVault to do what we need it to
do, I'm not impressed.

Another option is to see if they can give you references to someone using
BRMS with it.
Kind of an old fashioned concept but still valid.

The IBM I would be attached to a LaserVault ViTL, which would be connected
to the Exagrid for the storage.
The LaserVault Vital emulates a IBM TS3200 library.

That's a massive red flag. They have to emulate a 3584 tape library in
order for it to work with IBM i.

That's not a brand I have run into in the field, so I would be extremely
suspect.
