The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.

It's not deprecated. I suppose this concept might come from a lot of newer SQL functions that automatically record dates and times write Timestamps (ie. Temporal Table auto-columns), so, I guess I'd classify them as not trendy anymore. Our ERP system actually stores dates as packed 8,0 and times as 6,0, so, if you are using a date field, you're not considered antique yet for sure.

My boss is telling me that he thought that date data type in the database was somehow deprecated and that you should just use Timestamp. I have never heard of such a thing. Ring any bells with anyone? He is from the SQL Server world so maybe that is where he is picking it up.
