The internal search function is temporarily non-functional. The current search engine is no longer viable and we are researching alternatives.
As a stop gap measure, we are using Google's custom search engine service.
If you know of an easy to use, open source, search engine ... please contact support@midrange.com.
Check your domain suffix search list on that same screen. Often times your IBM i may think it is in one domain on your network attributes and the PC's in another. I know this from experience. So if your IBM i thinks it is
myibmi@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
And your PC's think they are
mypc@dekko-1
you'd better have both corp.dekko.com and dekko-1 in your domain search list.
Also you may have to try PING on that PC with the appropriate domain name.
CALL QCMD
You want to run it from that and not just any command line so you can see the results better.
PING MYPC
If that doesn't work try
PING MYPC.mypcdomain
You may have to put apostrophes around 'MYPC.mypcdomain'
If the former fails to work but the latter does, then definitely fix your domain search list
If neither works then fix your dns server list. You know, the 8.8 stuff you have there now.
Make sure you can ping your DNS servers
PING '8.8.8.8'
If you can't ping those then make sure that
1 - they are valid. You had a good idea to check your PCs
2 - Then you can do a TRACEROUTE '8.8.8.8' and it goes. If not, then set up some TCP/IP routing entries on your IBM i.
