Node.js is also an option here. Exceljs

Python and XlsxWriter is a super easy way to create spreadsheets. I'd go so far as to say it's fun.
There is a bit of a setup cost to get the latest open source version on your IBMi and a few decisions to make about how you will run it - virtual environments etc, but there are always people who can advise with that.
