More likely the IBM supplier is not building the cards anymore. Plus, most
of the dropped cards were 8Gb Fibre cards. 16Gb and 32Gb are getting cheap
enough that the 8Gb cards just aren't worth keeping around anymore. The
only exception to that is with Fibre back up. The tape units are just not
that fast so sending an LTO7 tape unit data any faster than 8Gb just is not
going to get you anywhere. VTLs may be a different discussion.

When you see certain cards being withdrawn, such as certain Fiber Channel
cards, should one guess that it is likely they will not be supported on any
follow on product? Or is it only because why buy the old one when the new
one is better/cheaper (and still being built)?
