RPG IV is as close to 100% compatible as it is possible to be when used in compatibility mode.

Sadly the old MULT "trick" works as long as you use MULT. It will not work, thank goodness, if you use * in an expression.

A compiler glitch is not out of the realm of possibility. Some tricks didn't carry over during conversions. For example, I'm not so sure multiplying a 6 digit date by 10000.01 to do date conversion carried over so well.
