Remember, with twinax you had TDLC (a variant of SDLC) so you could participate in APPC/APPN networking, over twinax ... if you had the correct PC Support or Netsoft "router" software installed ... :-)
That file transfer was basically an APPC application, and did not use the older "screen buffer" techniques used on the S/36 and S38 ...
