I frequently have this issue. I paste a command from IBM i into MS Word. It changes the single quotes to angled quotes. User tries to paste this on to a command line and gets the question mark. I have to be very careful in Word. May turn off the AutoFormat feature which does this.
Just did this in Word:
'with autoformat'
'without autoformat'
"with autoformat"
"without autoformat"
Paste that into 5250 and I get
?with autoformat?
'without autoformat'
?with autoformat?
"without autoformat"
Weird thing is that I can then copy this from 5250 and paste back into, even this email, and the question marks are replaced with the autoformatted characters. What deviltry is this?
