Agreed.  I'd need to make sure I have source code for all the components available so I can step through and see who calls what.  The JNI stuff also gets dicey.  So, yeah, with the right environment I could probably step through and figure out what the cause is.

I'd love to deep dive when I get the chance...just haven't found the time yet.
