Different ways of saying the same thing - QM, unlike Query/i, will print all the columns of the result. If there are more columns than can be contained on a page, it will use additional spooled files to get all the information out. So spooled file #1 might be columns 1 -8, #2 will continue with 9 - 14 or whatever, etc.

I like this feature - Query/i leaves with the risk of losing data.

But then we aren't supposed to use Query/i, correct?  :)  Web Query won't touch QM queries, either - too bad, seems to me. Of course, the competitors don't either that I know of.

It doesn't make two spool files into one...

It simply lets the output fit on a single width spool file.
