You can’t order the OS or LPPs because IBM must maintain its property
rights and the ESS site does that. It also provides for some level of
export control of software (or course not stopping someone from
circumventing that part).

PTFs on the other hand are almost useless without the base code.

I know, Robert. Thanks. I did look through that and jumped a little ahead
but then realized once the media is loaded that's when I accept. And I
found that not only was I missing software keys my "entitled software" was
missing a bunch of stuff. IBM is fixing that for me now and I'll need to
download some additional parts and start over.

It's been a few years since I did the V7R2 to V7R3 update. I don't
remember much from it.. it was years ago.

I'd pay someone to do it for me, but I figure this is the last time I'll
need to... unless my power 8 will support v8 (or V7R5 or whatever is next)
then it's move to the cloud and let them worry about it.

I've always wondered why you can't do an OS upgrade with a PTF order like
situation.

Subject: IBM Software Agreements V7R4 pruv error

CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. Do not

So, I am working on updating to V7R4 and the pruv is giving me an error
saying the software agreements havn't been accepted.

Now, I am guessing that's because I haven't installed V7R4 yet and I can
accept them once installed.

Is this correct? Or is there something else I need to do first? The
help
for the warnings and errors in pruv are pretty good, but this one is a
little confusing.
