Try defining the field as Both (allow input and output) with the Keyboard shift attribute as the letter "I" as shown below.
A 15 2'No Input:'
A NOINPUT 8I B 15 12
Note above you define the field as 8I instead of 8A.
The letter "I" says Inhibit any data typing, allow feature devices.
In SDA
Keying options . . . . . . . . . Hidden, Input or Both
Keyboard shift attribute . . . . . . . I N A X W I D M
J O E G
You can tab into the field but you cannot change the contents.
