Try defining the field as Both (allow input and output) with the Keyboard
shift attribute as the letter "I" as shown below.

A 15 2'No Input:'
A NOINPUT 8I B 15 12

Note above you define the field as 8I instead of 8A.

The letter "I" says Inhibit any data typing, allow feature devices.

You can tab into the field but you cannot change the contents.
