If you then search for "5728-TC1" you find some interesting stuff, like the city of Homestead FL had to pay$17k just for 5728-TC1 on their B50. (and now it's included, right?)

The V1 releases didn't list dates at:

CISC system builder listed it at 1.3

Thanks for that link.
It mentions version 3 in the doc and originally we only had releases not versions - they started with V2. So it looks like V1R3 may have been the introduction point.

In that document, it mentions 5728-TC1, so it was definitely available some time "way back" around the V2Rx time frame, but in that document, it says something that makes me think it may even have first been introduced as early as V1R3M0 ...

Jon,
That support was not available in the original OS/400 V1R1, at least until TCP/IP support was introduced to OS/400, some time around V2R1 to V2R2, if my memory serves me correctly...
It was definitely available and in use by V2R3 and V3R0M5, circa 1993 or so, as I recall first seeing it in use at some customer sites at that time.
Hope that helps,

Anyone remember if FTP was available;lable on the original AS/400 or was that a later addition?
I'm sure I recall using it way back when but am being challenged on my memory.
