In that document, it mentions 5728-TC1, so it was definitely available some time "way back" around the V2Rx time frame, but in that document, it says something that makes me think it may even have first been introduced as early as V1R3M0 ...

It was definitely available and in use by V2R3 and V3R0M5, circa 1993 or so, as I recall first seeing it in use at some customer sites at that time.
