Instead of iDate you can also use the Db2 scalar function Timestamp_Format.
Timestamp_Format will convert a character string in almost any date format
into a timestamp.
Example:
Timestamp_Format(Digits(YourColumn), 'HH24MISSMMDDYYYY')
If you only need the date, just put a Date() function around:
Date(Timestamp_Format(Digits(YourColumn), 'HH24MISSMMDDYYYY'))
