It's not JUST Windows 10 it goes back to Windows 7. There have been several issues over the years where Microsoft has updated things that crash access to QDLS. They go back at least a decade!. This issue though has to do with the server side. QDLS cannot do multi thread as it's not threadsafe. So something in the netserver must be single threaded for clients using QDLS. If you've already mapped to an IFS folder that will be multi-threaded as it performs better of course. As a consequence attempted mapping of QDLS second will necessarily fail.

There are SO MANY good reasons to bail out on QDLS and it's SO SIMPLE to do so.

This document describes how to disable threaded access to the netserver entirely though for customers held hostage by a stubborn ISV.

That’s crazy. Did they update their support document to say they don’t
support windows 10 clients?

What I would do, personally, is log a call with CMS EVERY SINGLE TIME
you run into this issue. I do not care if they say: "But that's not our
problem." Becaus until they get annoyed with users calling they will
simply say: "It has to be QDLS." And it will never get fixed.

Evan,

Yup, sure do.

I would actually love to avoid using QDLS, but the ERP package we're
using (CMS) states in no uncertain terms in their documentation that it has
to be QDLS.
