The BP is working right now, so I'll save that for later. Thank you

Translation of the latter part:
Did you go into STRSST,
3. Work with disk units
2. Work with disk configuration
4. Add units to ASPs and balance data
3. Add units to existing ASPs
And see anything besides
<snip>
The function you requested cannot be performed at this time
because:

o The requested function requires one or more non-configured
units. No non-configured units were found on the system </snip>

Say what???

The only way that's possible is if the BP configured a huge number of tiny LUNs and used up all the LUN count on the existing ports. Thing is that's a LOT (like 128 per port!)

Normally what you would need to do is create additional LUNs on the SAN, assign them to the existing host for the IBM i partition and then add them to the ASP (with balance of course) in service tools.

Our S914 came with a SAN containing 12 HDDs. We added 4 SSDs to the SAN, configured for Easy Tier. We saw a jump in disk performance, but for some reason IBMi didn't show an increase in overall DASD. Our business partner said that we need to add additional fiber cables between the server and the SAN to see the additional capacity. That seems like a simple enough thing to do, but I'm trying to wrap my head around how that works. Can anyone explain why more fiber cables are required in order to have the increased disk capacity?

TIA
