Yea, it works, sort of. But now that Oracle is doing it's best to destroy
it, if you cannot run Oracle's Java any more, (I can't since I will not pay
for it) you must move to a different java. Not only that the browsers all
complain about Java.

So download the Java from AdoptOpenJDK (the one IBM donated to Open Source)
and install that. Warning don't go to the latest version, Stay with V8.

Now download IceTeaWeb and install that. Wait no plugin's for browsers.
Run from Command line.

The world is not so simple if you don't lie to Oracle about being in a
company (or pay the extortion fee) and we still need to run .jnlp files.

Insanity.

Of course, SFTP or other download method is way to F***** easy.

Download Director is the only way to fly.
I was on the phone with someone from IBM support and he started with some
other option and I was kicking his butt on the download. He aborted and
went to Download Director and it was MUCH faster.
I downloaded it all in under 45 minutes.

There are some very rare occasions where DD gives me fits and I switch to
the http way. This would end up with me leaving my laptop running that
download at work over the weekend.

to use Configuration Files at the system, User, or individual email Level.
This means that should any of the settings (such as your password) is
changed you only need to update it in the configuration file that is used.

I have not checked but usually IBM has upgrade documentation out there.

The process will be nearly identical to the V7R2/V7R3 upgrade.

Java is a landmine, (almost always is) as well as a couple of LPPs
that were
dropped. WAS if installed, needs to be at the proper levels.

MTU will tell you quite a bit.

Downloads today are really slow........ I guess lot's of folks are
trying to download it.

Thanks, Paul.

Is there a tutorial for installing a new OS version? I know I did it
from
V7R2 to V7R3 but that was a while ago. The only snafu I ran into was
making sure to have the latest ACS for the console during the update.
