I was using a cool template in Run SQL Scripts and discovered a directory called /instancecache. It had a few directories in it with thousands of objects in each. I looked at a file and it was an xml file with PTF information about a 7.1 PTF. And it mentioned a Power 8 we had swapped out for a Power 9. So I figured "expendable". Desiring confirmation I searched and found this technote:
https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1010347
Basically it was no longer used after upgrading past 7.1
Gone:
IFS_DIRECTORY, IFS_OBJECT_COUNT
/instancecache/relationships 15446
/instancecache/resources 15369
/instancecache/deleted-resources 2300
Template:
-- category: SYSTOOLS for you
-- description: Analyze IFS storage consumption
