Hi,
The entire command is as follows. Maybe it assumes a MAX because I
specified a MIN. The value is 0x3E8 (1000).

CMD PROMPT('Convert TIF Files')
PARM KWD(REPORT) TYPE(*NAME) LEN(10) MIN(1)
PROMPT('Report Name')

PARM KWD(DATABASE) TYPE(*NAME) LEN(10) DFT(DATABASE)
PROMPT('Database library')

PARM KWD(STARTYR) TYPE(*INT4) RANGE(1995 2095) MIN(1)
ALWVAR(*NO) SPCVAL((*NEXT 9))

PARM KWD(NBRFIL) TYPE(*INT4) RANGE(1 999999) MIN(1)
PROMPT('Number of files to process')

PARM KWD(BFEXT) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(4) DFT(IDX)
PROMPT('Buddy file extension chars.')

PARM KWD(MONPATH) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(128) MIN(1)
ALWUNPRT(*NO) ALWVAR(*YES) VARY(*YES *INT4) +
PROMPT('S4i Express Monitor Path')

Hi,
I have a Command that is Calling a C program where one of the parameters
contains a variable parameter (see below). I have examined the input
(argv[n]) field in my program and it appears that 2 integers preceded the
data. The first appears to be some type of offset and the second is the
length of the entered data. I only expected the second integer.

Do you maybe have MAX coded too? If you have MAX with a value greater
than 1, then the parameter will start with an 2-byte integer saying how
many were specified.

If my PARM is defined like this:
PARM KWD(MONPATH) TYPE(*CHAR) LEN(128) MIN(1) +
MAX(10) ALWUNPRT(*NO) ALWVAR(*YES) +
VARY(*YES *INT4)

then if I pass "ABCDE" for the parameter, the hex value of the parameter
starts like this:

00010000 0005C1C2 C3C4C540
