Over the years we have a number of sFTP xfers going back and forth to customers and vendors.

It has never proven to be good enough to just shell out sFTP and let it fly. It's critical that we know that the files get there in one piece.

Considerations:

1. transferred files get picked up before the xfer is complete. solution is to transfer files to a temp folder and rename them to the prod folder or transfer the file as a hidden (dotted file) to the prod folder and then rename it.

2. incomplete transfers. solution is to conduct a byte count check of file after xfer is complete to be it got there in one piece.

We are now using Python and pExpect to closely monitor sFTP file transfers. We archive sent/received files as well as verbose log files.

You can't escape our microscope.

We have to send our electronic check data to the bank using SSH FTP (SFTP) Port - 22.

I want to do this in a CL, where do I find the steps to accomplish this. Please, I have never done this before and come from a one person shop.

Thanks
