Thanks Rob but from a brief look at the web site and documentation this
may be for US Postal ONLY. (I need Australia!!)

I have though successfully used HTTPAPI to request the distance and
received a json response with the required information.

This will be perfect for my POC.

Cheers

I think this is an outstanding idea. However if you are into
alternatives which may not rely upon external services check out
http://worksright.com/
They have some stuff which can tell you distance between two
locations. I'm not sure if that is "as the crow flies".
Not getting any sweetener from this. Just someone who has used
their products in the past.

Subject: Using Google maps to get the distance between two addresses

I am just starting to investigate how to do this and wondered if
anyone in the group had already done this using Google Maps or some
other site.

The requirement is to process a list of from and to street addresses
and calculate the distance by road between the two addresses.

If anyone has already done this and would like to point me in nthe
right direction it would be appreciated.

Thanks

Don Brown
