Did you by chance in the past use integrated x-series servers with your IBM i? Memory says we needed this thing installed to interact with the service processor of those systems in order to power them on and off.

That is the only thing I can recall it did and if I recall correctly this was only a small part of IBM director at that. Then consider all of IBM director reached end of service a year ago. Unlikely you're using this.
