You want it on a fairly large, USB 3.1 thumb drive.
It absolutely has to be USB 3.1 capable, and it'll only work on the front-panel USB port...
Once you use the Utility to write the SLIC image to it, you can copy the ISO files for everything else onto it as long as it has room...

I need a bootable USB drive for my s914 running IBMi 7.3. I assume I need to download an ISO image and "burn" it to USB. Is that correct? If so, can anyone tell me where I can download the ISO?
