Re: DFS-R like behaviour with two IBMi machines

What i found out is that unison is not really supported any more. osync is
the best option i found from the open-source guys but there is no real
active development.

Are there any (possibly also commercial) solutions for this problem which
work with remote-journals and are developed natively for IBMi?

We are talking about a customer which has to sync 8TB of data and uses
DFS-R now. If we want to switch to a solution based on IBMi we have to
come up with a stable and robust solution for the sync-problem. i dont
think that pase/script is the way to go.

But if someone uses rsync/osync in production i would like to know how it
works.

You can sync bi-directionally or sync deletes
Not both .

Not sure about unison and PASE support.

On reliability side: RSync is widely used and comes standard with most NAS
devices

there are some open-source tools (e.g. osync) based on rsync but i doubt
they are as stable as a client would expect an as400 solution.
