I suspect those who want performance graphs from multiple lpars/systems will be referred to HMC or some high falutin' systems management software.

I just want the PTF compare function. I'll probably have to write that myself with exception joins using SQL services.

Justin

Ibm have said the Management Central complete interface is not going to be part of Navigator for the web.

They are putting pieces of it in there, mostly as enough people say they want them.

So the thing to do is to submit an RFE for what you want - individual things, not a global request like "i want Management Central" :)

And you might search the RFE page for "Management Central" or less likely MGTC, to see if there is something already there for what you would like.

Vern

So it sounds like IBM is just as confused as I am. So there server's still there, and presumably supported, but there's no UI? I wonder if it has some back-end functionality for IBMi?

Some sources:

IBM i Navigator "What isn't included" Management Central leads the
list
https://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=isg3T1026869

Which is confused by " For V7R2, IBM Navigator for i now contains some key functions from Management Central, including PTF management and system monitors."
https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_73/rzahg/rzah
g2aaih.htm

https://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/en/ssw_ibm_i_71/rzaih/rzai
hmonitors.htm Is the 7.1 documentation on Management Central. Click
on the pulldown for "Change version or product". Pick 7.3. You'll get a "no match, want to go to the home for 7.3?"

And whomever wrote the " IBM i 7.3 Recommended Fixes - Management Central" page at http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=nas8N1021942 needs to put the hookah down for a little while as if I tried to " In addition to the above PTFs, the recommendation is to apply the latest V7R1 Cumulative, HIPER, DB2 and Java Group PTFs."
on my 7.3 machine it might get violently ill.

I do miss the PTF compare across systems.

Management Central is long gone, last I heard.

Now that iNav is being dropped, what's the current supported UI for Management Central (MGTC)?
