I can beat this into submission but I am wondering if there is a more elegant way of converting two fields like CYYMMDDD and HHMMSS into a timestamp in SQL

I am aware of the performance considerations of doing it this way versus comparing against just converting my input data to numerics instead, or using a conversion table. I just want to do it this way.
