My BP pretty much confirmed that this is nothing more than an expensive
extended warranty. And I agree with regards to best effort on replacement
parts. Just this past month we had to get a replacement chassis (under
maintenance/support) for our LTO tape library because it started throwing
'mechanical block' errors. Guess what - today I had to open another case
due to another mechanical block error, but with a slightly different error
code... Makes me wonder if the replacement they installed is a refurb...
grrrr. Just another reason I'm looking forward to retirement!
