I would NOT preallocate more than performance and size dictate.
For example if two NWSD's with 6 NWSSTG spaces each let's your system run
fine but leaves a bunch of extra disk in your host then that's ok. Later
on you can then add the space from the host to any guest which may need
it, or even create a new lpar. Much like when you buy a SAN you don't
rush out and allocate all the disk right away.
Consistently sized, per lpar, is good.
And, unless you are creating a really small lpar (like some of the cloud
providers do) then a minimum size of 70GB is good. If you are doing the
smaller lpars then you can have a smaller load source when guesting then
you can when using physical drives. See the reference for that.
Beware: You can add more storage spaces to a NWSD than it will allow to
come active. Removing the one you accidentally added is a difficult
dedicated process and does not appear in the book "How to Win Friends and
Influence People".
