When you use a library you normally do not want the tape devices because
you do not address them directly and they cause issues if they are varied
on when you try to use the library. The only time you'll ever address a
device directly is when you are using it as an alternate installation
device.
However, if you do not have such a device then there is a validation
program for INZTAP which says you can't use *ULTRIUM5 as you have no
*ULTRIUM5 drives. So, if you have no such drives and you prompt INZTAP
*ULTRIUM5 will not appear.
The work around is to WRKHDWRSC *STG.
Find the library

Pick any drive with "5=Work with configuration descriptions"
1=Create
Online at IPL . . . . . . . . . ONLINE > *NO
Now when you prompt INZTAP you will see that *ULTRIUM4 and *ULTRIUM5 have
been added. *ULTRIUM4 is there because LTO5 can write to LTO4. While it
can read LTO3 that just doesn't freaking matter to INZTAP so it doesn't
add *ULTRIUM3.
It can't pick the densities from the library itself as one library can
support multiple drive types.
Now if they could only get rid of *QIC120 and all the rest of that clutter
which is not supported at 7.3
