That will still use quite a bit of space on the source machine. Under the
covers it's using a save file to start the save and then it starts sending
records across the line, removing them as it gets confirmation the records
got there.

You could install and configure Enterprise Extender, an optional part of IBM
i OS and then you could use SAVRSTLIB, SAVRSTOBJ, or SAVRST etc. to save and
restore libraries, objects, etc. directly without having to first save
everything into a save file.
