We have a new Power9. We have opted to use a LAN console over an HMC.
(Single LPAR system). So far with this system (not in production yet), we
are spending most of our time trying to recover the console. Seems each
time an IPL is performed the console address (and sometimes even the card)
is changed. I have been working with IBM support on this, but sometimes the
folks on this list have experiences that are outside of support's knowledge
base.

We have gone through more 65-21-11 sequences than I can count (I am
beginning to think we may wear those buttons out - lol). Once we finally get
the console configured we go into SST and set the IP (using an IPV4
address). IPL and it has an IPV6 address for the console or the console
cannot be found.

Any thoughts from the gurus?
