You are more unique than you might realize then. *NOMAX is my favorite
parameter on tables since it creates a wonderful revenue stream from
customers that have not been as diligent as you apparently are.

My response to this is that IBM is generally pretty careful about giving
us choices that let us shoot ourselves in the foot. If IBM has left
*NOMAX as an option then they have a reason for it.
