There are ways to capture the data for an Option/21 save that don't require running an Option/21!

As long as your backup includes the same things in the same order on a tape, it'll work the same as if you'd used the GO/SAVE/21.

Thank you for that message and link! The process mentioned would presumably give me the *NONSYS label that our partners were missing with a BRMS *SYSTEM save. I'll try creating a BRMS backup policy with the same steps/commands, then compare a DSPTAP DATA(*LABELS) between the BRMS and a manual save. I'll also have to review the resulting BRMS recovery plan.
