We have Windows 7 PCs mapping a drive to the IFS. We're on 7.1. We have a
two-part problem:

1: With some Word and Excel documents, I'll get an error: xyz.doc is locked
for editing by 'another user', when I know no one else has it open. When I
reply with 'Receive Notification when the original copy is available', I
will then get (after about 15 seconds) 'xyz.doc is now available for
editing'.

2: If someone has a Word or Excel document open for a while (more than 15
minutes or so), someone else will be able to open it (for updating).

In my research, I've had noticed that the IBM i NetServer Sessions end after
about 900 seconds of idle time even though the IBM i NetServer Inactive
Session Time-out period was set to 6000 seconds. I then realized that
Windows 7's inactive time-out is set to 15 minutes (900 seconds).

The thing is, after a session times out (while a user has a Word or Excel
file open) another user is able to open the file for updating.

How do I address this problem?
