Hi Thomas, it sounds like you're using the old Navigator with a newer
OS...probably Windows 7 or higher. I've seen that tmp file behavior before.
Switch to the web based Navigator and download your files.
Or create a new folder, secure it, put your files in there and mount a share
on it, then do your dragging and dropping between IBM i and Windows with
Windows Explorer.
I can't emphasize enough how dangerous sharing the root is so please don't
head down that path.

When I try to copy an excel file or anything else from the IFS I am getting
an object on our desktop that has an extension of TMP with nothing in the
